How Important is Vitamin D?
Your Guide to Sunbathing

The sun is your best source of Vitamin D but Doctors'
believe that sun exposure causes an increase risk of skin cancer.

Vitamin D Deficiency - A Cause of Cancer?

It is estimated that over 50% of Americans are Vitamin D deficient. Why? We avoid the sun because the sun causes cancer. Vitamin D is not present in most of our foods we eat daily. There is no Vitamin D in your fruits and most vegetables. The best source of Vitamin D is from fish -- and nobody likes fish! Most people obtain their Vitamin D from Milk and processed foods that have been fortified with Vitamin D. Maybe this is why Vitamin D deficiency is so common. Lets examine why Vitamin D is probably one of most important vitamins for your health and well being.

When tested, cancer patients usually are deficient in Vitamin D. Why? In my opinion, the reason why most people get cancer is do to the low levels of Vitamin D in their bodies. Studies have shown that people who have normal healthy levels of Vitamin D have less risk of getting cancer than those with low levels.

What Do the Researchers Say?

Researchers have known that low levels of vitamin D are linked to certain kinds of cancers but new research also shows that the vitamin can kill human cancer cells. JoEllen Welsh, UAlbany Cancer Researcher, has studied the effects of vitamin D for 25 years. Part of her research involves taking human cancer cells and treating them with a potent form of vitamin D. Within 48 hours, half of the cancer cells died. "What happens is that Vitamin D enters the cells and triggers the cell death process," she told "Good Morning America." "It's similar to what we see when we treat cells with Tamoxifen," a drug used to treat breast cancer.

New research shows vitamin D slashes risk of cancers by 77 percent. Exciting new research conducted at the Creighton University School of Medicine in Nebraska has revealed that supplementing with vitamin D and calcium can reduce your risk of cancer by an astonishing 77 percent. This includes breast cancer, colon cancer, skin cancer and other forms of cancer. This research provides strong new evidence that vitamin D is the single most effective medicine against cancer, far outpacing the benefits of any cancer drug known to modern science.

The study involved 1,179 healthy women from rural Nebraska. One group of women was given calcium (around 1500 mg daily) and vitamin D (1100 IU daily) while another group was given placebo. Over four year, the group receiving the calcium and vitamin D supplements showed a 60 percent decrease in cancers. Considering just the last three years of the study reveals an impressive 77 percent reduction in cancer due to supplementation.

Does Sun Exposure Increase
My Risk of Skin Cancer?

Jacobs Liberman, O.D., Ph.D., challenges the modem myth that the sun is dangerous to our well-being. "The sun was once used as

a general tonic to heal almost everything and man has run naked on this planet under the sun for centuries. The sun provides the basis for all life on earth. The sun is the source of energy for all plants, and indirectly, for all animals. If the sun causes cancer, man wouldn't be here today. Contrary to popular belief, sunbathing actually helps heal cancer of the skin while sunblock increases cancer risk. Can sunlight help prevent cancers and other diseases such as type 1 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain autoimmune and chronic diseases?"

Through my research I have found many inconsistencies with what we are told by our Doctor and what is in fact the truth. The latest big lie we are told is that the sun causes cancer. The sun, if used properly, is a healing agent for the body not something to be avoided.

You have probably heard the phrase "sunshine on your skin produces Vitamin D." Is this true? It depends when and where you get the sunshine. Lets examine the sun's rays and how they play a role in our health.

The sun gives off two types of rays; UV A and UV B. Only UV B rays can provide your body with the important Vitamin D that is needed to prevent and ward off cancer. UV A is what radically increases your risk of skin cancer and photo aging of your skin. How do I know when the best time is to get the beneficial UV B rays?

When is the BEST time to Sunbathe?
When the sun's angle to the Earth is greater than 50°

What you need to know is sunlight is composed of 1500 wavelengths, and the only one that makes Vitamin D on your skin is UV B-rays. UV B-rays must shine on unexposed skin - no clothing or coverings. Here's the problem. UV B rays must pass through the atmosphere and reach where you are on the Earth. This only happens when the sun is above an angle of about 50° from the horizon.

What happens to the UV B-rays when the sun is below an angle of 50°? When the sun is lower than 50°, the ozone layer reflects the UV B-rays back into space but the more dangerous longer UV A-rays still reach the Earth. Do not sunbathe when the sun is lower than 50° as your body will be subject to the damaging effects of the UV A-rays. Also, do not sunbathe during cloudy days as the UV B-rays cannot penetrate the clouds but the UV A-rays can.

The Big Question????

So how do I know when the UV B-rays which allow for vitamin D production on your skin are available in my area?

We at cause-of-prostate-cancer.com have prepared a chart for you that will identify when your area provides enough UV B-rays. This is a guide only and you should obtain the information for your town.

This guide shows you that UV B-rays (which produce Vitamin D on your skin) are not available in the extreme northern and southern hemispheres. If you live in an area close to the equator, you can sunbathe year-round. Those areas in between (who have cold winters) only have 5-7 months of UV B-rays.

Sunbathing can be therapeutic for your body if done correctly. Don't overdo it!
After you have maximized your sun exposure get out of the sun or obtain a safe
sunscreen as discussed in detail in my E-Book- Chapter 5 or below.

Should I Wear Sunscreen While I Sunbathe?

Absolutely not! Here are the facts. Store bought sunscreens cause cancer. Why? They are loaded with chemicals that cause cancer. Here is a list of ingredients commonly found in your sunscreens!

1. TEA, DEA, MEA (tri-, di- and mono- ethylamine’s) can cause liver and kidney cancer. It’s also corrosive to eyes, and causes allergic reactions on the skin.
2. Formaldehyde is carcinogenic. It’s strongly irritant to the eyes and throat, and causes irritant and allergic dermatitis.
3. Diazolidinyl and imidazolidinyl urea (Germall 115) may release formaldehyde, so it’s irritant and carcinogenic.
4. Most of FD&C color pigments are carcinogenic (according to animal studies). They also contain heavy metals that may cause skin sensitivity.
5. The following nitrosating agents were proven to cause cancer in laboratory animals: 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol,Cocoyl sarcosine, Hydrolysed animal protein, Lauryl sarcosine, Quaternium-7, 15, 31, 60, etc, Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), ammonium lauryl sulfate (ALS), sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), ammonium laureth sulfate (ALES), and Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate.
6. Lanolin is obtained from the wool, so it’s often contaminated with chemicals used on sheep (pesticides).
7. Mineral oil can be contaminated with PAHs (polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons) that cause cancer.
8. Talc, routinely used in genital area increases the risk for ovarian cancer.

How long do I expose my body to the sun?

First let me clarify something for you. When I say expose your body to the sun that means taking all your clothes off and exposing as much of your body to the sun as you legally can. Naked is best, a skimpy swimsuit or shorts are ok. Why? The more skin that is exposed to the sun the quicker you will get your Vitamin D requirements. A fully clothed person wearing a baseball cap is not going to meet their Vitamin D requirement even if they are outside in the sun all day.

Ok, so how long should I expose myself, almost
naked, to the sun but avoid burning myself?

As soon as your skin has a light pink (Caucasians only) color to it, you have maximized your exposure (no more Vitamin D can be absorbed) and any further exposure will only harm (burn) your skin. Don’t forget to expose your front and backside (your whole body).

It is important to stress that you should never get burned and should only implement sun exposure very gradually. Just five minutes in the midday sun in the summer may be all you will need at the beginning. Gradually as your skin pigment changes to a darker color you will have to stay out longer. Use common sense.

Avoid Sunburn

While we all benefit from regular exposure to the sun, it is important to recognize that you should always limit your exposure so that you avoid getting burned. Sunburn has been clearly related to an increased risk of skin cancer.

Interestingly, if you avoid getting sunburned yet have regular sun exposure, you will have a decreased risk of the dangerous form of skin cancer, melanoma. Optimizing your sun exposure in this way also reduces your risk of 16 other common cancers!

I am at the Beach. What do I do to avoid
burning when I am outside for long periods?

After you have finished exposing your body to the sun, move into the shade, use an umbrella or wear clothing and sunhat. If for some reason you cannot do this use a safe sunscreen. Here are some safe alternatives you won’t find in your local store:

Dr Mercola Broad Spectrum Sunscreen
Mexitan Products

Do not Shower after Sunbathing

Vitamin D from the sunshine on your skin is an oil soluble steroid hormone. This Vitamin D is formed when your skin is exposed to UV B-rays from the sun. When the UV B-rays strike the surface of your skin, your skin converts a cholesterol

derivative in your skin into Vitamin D3.

The vitamin D3 that is formed on your skin does not immediately penetrate into your bloodstream. Vitamin D needs to be absorbed from the surface of your skin into your bloodstream. How long does this absorption process take? Recent evidence shows it takes up to 48 hours before you absorb the majority of the vitamin D that was generated by exposing your skin to the sun!

Showering with soap will simply wash away much of the vitamin D3 your skin generated, and decrease the benefits of your sun exposure. So in order to optimize your vitamin D level, delay washing your body with soap for 48 hours after sun exposure.

How am I going to go 48 hours without bathing myself? Simple, just wash those areas where bacteria collect and cause oder. Use your body cleanser on your armpits and groin area. Avoid cleansing the larger areas of your body that were exposed to the sun.

How Do I Get My Vitamin D when the Sun
is below 50° and No Longer Produces
Vitamin D on my skin?

When the sunbathing season is over how do you get your Vitamin D? There are a number of ways to obtain your Vitamin D when you cannot sunbathe. Below is a small list that I follow with the amount of Vitamin D.

The Do's and Don'ts of Sunbathing

Below are a list of items you must follow for proper Sunbathing techniques. Sunbathing can be therapeutic if you follow this simple steps.

1. Do not wear store bought sunscreens when sunbathing. These chemical based sunscreens are absorbed into your blood and have cancer causing ingredients. If necessary us a natural sunscreen without the chemicals.

2. Sunbathe only when the sun is 50° or higher over the horizon. This allows the healthy UV B-rays to be absorbed into your skin to produce Vitamin D.

3. Avoid sunburn. Always limit your exposure so that you avoid getting burned. Sunburn has been clearly related to an increased risk of skin cancer. The first few days, you should limit your exposure to the sun to allow your body's melanocyte cells to rev up the ability to produce protective pigmentation that not only gives you a tan, but also serves to help protect you against overexposure to the sun.

If you are a fairly light skinned individual that tends to burn, you will want to limit your initial exposure to a few minutes, especially if it is in the middle of summer.

4. Do not sunbathe in the morning or late afternoon when only the harmful UV A-rays are present.

5. Follow the directions shown above to obtain the information for your area when the sun is 50° or higher.

6. Do not use soap or body cleansers to wash your skin for 48 hours after your sunbath. Soap will wash your vitamin D off your skin and you will lose most of the benefit obtained.

7. When you cannot sunbathe because no UV B-rays are available obtain your Vitamin D from foods or supplements. Do not allow your body to become Vitamin D deficient.

8. Avoid Tanning through a Window as it Will Increase Your Skin Cancer Risk. Why? Only UV A-rays can penetrate through windows. UV A-rays are one of the primary culprits behind skin cancer, and it increases photo aging of your skin. It's also what causes you to tan. If you work all day near windows or drive long periods of time with the sun shining through your window you are at a higher risk for cancers of the skin because you are predominately receiving only the dangerous UV A-rays.

Is Fungus Causing
Your Health Problems

In most cases fungus has invaded your body and your Doctor doesn't know. Why? Your Doctor has not been trained in Mycology. In most cases he treats your symptoms as a bacterial infection. If you are being treated with an antibiotic and you have a fungal infection your symptoms will get worse because "fuel is being added to fire."

Antibiotic is a fungal mycotoxin that treats only bacterial infections. Do not take an antibiotic if you have a fungal infection. Read my E-Book - How to Restore Your Health from Cancer to learn the proper steps to take from Nutrition, Supplementation, Exercise, and Detox.
